SCOTIA SPEEDWORLD: Stars and Cars under the Lights at Scotia Speedworld this Friday Night!

Stars and Cars under the Lights at Scotia Speedworld this Friday Night!

(Halifax, NS – August 18, 2010) There will be celebrities in the house this week at Scotia Speedworld! In addition to Weekly Racing Series action, nine of your favorite media personalities will also be going head to head on the track for the 2010 Media Race. Don't miss Bobby Mac, Denyse Sibley, Cyril Lunney, Ray Bradshaw and more as they pilot the Tirecraft Thunder Cars for bragging rights, the coveted Media Race trophy and most importantly a cheque for his or her local charity of choice! The battle for media supremacy will happen this Friday night under the lights at Scotia Speedworld.

The Tirecraft Thunder Car drivers are kindly lending their cars to the media this week, however five other divisions of race cars will see action on the 3/10 mile oval, located adjacent to the Halifax International Airport. With only four Weekly Racing Series events left this season the Championships and points are on every drivers mind. Racing action will be intense for the remainder of the season as teams try to gain maximum points and positions on the grid.

Gates open at 5:00 pm on Friday. Heat races to determine starting positions for each division get underway at 7:00pm with feature racing to follow immediately after. The much anticipated Media Race is slated to run following the Tirecraft Lightning Feature.

Admission for the Weekly Racing Series & Media Race is $12.00 for adults; $2.00 for youth aged 8-15; children 7 and under are admitted free. All children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Pit admission is $15.00 and restricted to those 16 and older.  Tickets are available at the gate on race day.
