HOWARD LOOKS FOR FIRST FORREST ROGERS MEMORIAL WIN AT GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY

BECHTELSVILLE, PA August 11, 2010 . . . There is not much that Grandview Speedway NASCAR 358 Modified stock car point leader Duane Howard has not won. The annual Forrest Rogers Memorial, a 50 lap classic run in memory of the founder of the one-third-mile, banked clay track, is one of those elusive victories that has not made it to the Howard success resume.

Howard will be at the wheel of the Chad Sinon owned BPG Racing No. 4 as he goes after that elusive win in the $10,000 to win Memorial on Saturday, August 14th. The racing action will get underway at 7:30 p.m. and will include a full show of NASCAR 358 Modifieds and Late Model stock cars. This event will carry a Saturday, August 21st rain date.

The Oley, PA racer has finished in second place a number of times but a win in the Forrest Rogers Memorial has eluded him. He is hoping to change that this time.

He warmed up for the Forrest Rogers Memorial by winning the 30-lap NASCAR 358 Modified feature on Saturday night.

There will be plenty of competition going up against Howard including past winners such as Craig VonDohren who has seven wins to his credit in the 358 Modifieds at Grandview this season. He will be a strong favorite to win it again.

Eight time track champion Jeff Strunk, still without a win this season at Grandview, is hoping to get another Forrest Rogers Memorial win.

Last year’s winner Ryan Godown will be looking to win his second in a row.

Others in the field include Mike Gular, Billy Pauch Jr., Brad Missimer, Jon Kellner Sr. (a past winner), Addison Meitzler, Keith Brightbill, Danny Erb, Kyle Follweiler and a host of others. Other past winners expected to enter include Jason Hamilton, Ray Swinehart, Terry Meitzler and Meme DeSantis.

The Modifieds and Late Models will race in a full series of qualifying events leading up to the 50-lap Forrest Rogers Memorial for Modifieds and a 20-lap main event for the Late Models.

Grandview Speedway is located at 43 Passmore Road in Bechtelsville, PA, just a short distance off Route 100, 10 miles north of Pottstown. For information telephone 610.754.7688 or check in at http://www.grandviewspeedway.com/.
