Ottawa, ON (August 10, 2010) NASCAR driver Pierre Bourque returns to action in the Canadian NASCAR series this weekend with a new look to the #00 Dodge. With round number eight of the series taking place as part of the historic Grand Prix of Trois Rivieres Sunday August 15th, Bourque will pilot the #00 Mahindra Tractors Dodge in the feature event.
While Mahindra Tractors has been a supporter of Bourque’s efforts this season with the car prepared by DJK Racing there is a special connection this weekend. “I’m very excited to campaign the #00 Mahindra Tractors Dodge in Trois Rivieres” said Bourque. “Mahindra Tractors is very interested in Trois Rivieres and area for their future business plans and the Grand Prix of Trois Rivieres is a premiere racing event in Canada so it’s perfect to put this partnership together, I’m very excited to be part of it” he added.
Bourque is looking to continue the positive momentum he gained during the final event of the series three race swing through western Canada. “I think the team did a good job in the last race to bounce back after we got collected in a crash the week before” stated Bourque. “We gained five spots during that last event, we’re back on a road course which I’m happy about and I know the #00 Mahindra Tractors Dodge will be running strong all weekend”.
This weekend’s race at Trois Rivieres will also provide Bourque with and excellent opportunity to move up in the overall championship standings. “We’re tenth overall heading into this weekend, but with a top-ten run in the #00 Mahindra Tractors Dodge we could definitely gain a couple of spots overall” said the driver. “Eighth spot is only 33 points ahead of us and we’re capable of gaining that much ground this weekend” he stated.
